Christopher Webster [Celluloid 10.22.13] Australia horror

It's rare that a film truly terrifies, but Wolf Creek scared the absolute shit out of me when I saw it almost ten years ago. John Jarratt's Outback killer is one of the most indelible visions of relentless evil. He's like an affable madman that comes at his victims like a machine throughout that film. So yeah, I've been looking forward to a sequel for many many years.

Wold Creek 2 seems to be a bit on the nose, but it looks like a lot of care has gone into its inception and creation. That sits well. Greg Mclean is back on directing duties, so that's good. The only thing I wonder about is the film's reliance on action rather than horror. At least, that's the sense I get from the trailer.

Synopsis:
The outback once more becomes a place of horror as another unwitting tourist becomes the prey for crazed, serial-killing pig-shooter Mick Taylor.

Either way, can't wait.

TBH, I thought the first - though serviceable - was extremely overrated. And this trailer makes the sequel look terrible.

He used to live down 3 doors down from me. While the first one was not too bad, this looks over done.
