Christopher Webster [Celluloid 06.25.14] post apocalyptic

The long awaited fourth film in the Mad Max series arrives in just under a year and we're finally starting to see some assets from the finished film. The biggest and brightest look comes in the form the cover of EW's latest issue which focuses on all things apocalyptic.

The question is, when the issue streets will we get more images and perhaps a teaser trailer. That would be pretty fantastic considering how long we've been waiting for this one.

Take a look at Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy from Mad Max: Fury Road! Other cast includes Nicholas Hoult, Nathan Jones, Zoë Kravitz, Riley Keough, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Hugh Keays-Byrne.

I really want to be excited about this, but we've all been WWZ'd before. That's a huge pair of boots to fill.
Off subject but two tropes have been bugging me lately. We just rewatched Jeremiah over the last few days and it made me wonder about the 'tough black woman in charge' motif. The Tribe, Thunder Dome, Jeremiah, Walking Dead- as soon as society falls apart black women will kick ass. Also- why do so many PA soundtracks/theme songs sound like Irish women giving birth during an African festival? Drum and scream, drum and scream.
