Marina Antunes [Celluloid 07.28.14] post apocalyptic scifi thriller

Earlier this year, a Vancouver location was turned into a top secret set. Security was so tight that at any given time there were a handful of personnel guarding the stars and producers. You'd think Tom Cruise was on set but instead, it was Norman Reedus and Djimon Hounsou. The movie they were shooting? Air.

Though it sounds like a bunch of other movies we've seen before, much of the recent buzz around Air comes from the fact that the movie is being produced by "The Walking Dead" creator Robert Kirkman. Big name alert...I guess.

The teaser isn't exactly earth shattering but it sets up an interesting premise: Reedus and Hounsou are custodial workers whose job is to maintain the equipment that keeps the underground bunker that houses the remnants of humanity.

Air is directed by Christian Cantamessa, best known for his work on the video game "Red Dead Redemption" and co-writeen by Contamessa and Chris Pasetto. Those who have been paying close attention will also note that the movie is shot by Norm Li, a noted cinematographer who we've mentioned around these parts in the past.

No official release date has been announced but Air is due next year.

This makes me think of the Wool novels. I like Reedus so I'm looking forward to this.

It just sort of looks like he is playing the same character.
