Marina Antunes [Celluloid 08.08.14] Canada horror

I wish I could say that I'm really looking forward to seeing Jesse Thomas Cook's Septic Man but truth of the matter is, the very concept of this movie, written by the great Tony Burgess (of Pontypool fame), grosses me out.

Jason David Brown stars as Jack, a sewage worker working hard to uncover what is causing the town's water contamination problem. While working, he's trapped in a septic tank with no food or water and undergoes a transformation.

Judging from what little I've seen of the movie (the new clip and trailer below), it looks like Jack turns into some shit-covered creature and quite frankly, I'm not sure I have the stomach for that. It may not be for me but I don't doubt that Septic Man is going to be a must see for many a fan of gross-out horror.

Septic Man, which also stars Stephen McHattie and Julian Richings, is available on VOD August 12, will open theatrically on August 15 and will be available on DVD on August 19.
