When we heard Asiel Norton, director of the brilliant art-house western Redland (Review), was working on a post-apocalyptic fairy tale called Orion, we knew it would be something special. That was more than two years ago, when the film's star David Arquette tweeted a crazy photo of himself dressed up like a junkyard Zardoz. We weren't really sure what to think, but we still had faith the film would be wholly original.
Now that we've obtained the first footage from Norton's film, we think it's safe to say Orion is destined to be a transcendent experience.
The film, which also stars Lily Cole (The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Moth Diaries), chronicles the adventures of a violent hunter (Arquette), as he scours the wastelands of Earth for his missing brother.
Orion is produced by Traction Media, but does not yet have distribution.
More as it comes, folks!
UPDATE: We've been asked to remove the video by the filmmakers, but hope to have something else to show you soon. Hopefully many of you got to see the goodness.

It's M83. Song's called 'outro'. Iy was used in the trailer for Cloud Atlas. Perhaps elsewhere too. Great track.
