We've already commented on the appeal of The Lazarus Effect and how, despite the movie's apparent re-tread of the 90s classic Flatliners (OK, maybe classic is pushing it a little), it still manages to look better than most of these possession/evil identity from the other side, movies.

Not only does it feature a great cast of indie talent including Mark Duplass and Olivia Wilde, it's also directed by David Gelb who is best known for the mouth-wateringly gorgeous documentary Jiro Dreams of Sushi.

At one point in this trailer, Mark Duplass mutters "I can't predict how this will end." Let me help you: badly. 'Cause if you haven't figured it out yet, possessed Olivia Wilde doesn't look like she's going to be stopping any time soon. Yes, it's a cheesy line and a familiar premise but we're still hopeful this will turn out for the better. Are we alone in that?

The Lazarus Effect opens February 27.
