Within this world of fire and blood exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order... There’s Max (Hardy), a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos.
And… Furiosa (Theron), a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.
The film is directed by George Miller and stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Zoe Kravitz, Riley Keough, Hugh Keays-Byrne and, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Mad Max was great. Mad Max 2 was even better. Mad Max 3...not so much, which is a shame, because it had a lot of elements that, if some had been expanded and other suppressed entirely, would have really given the series some depth. That being said, this reboot is gorgeously shot, but seems to be still a rehash of what we've already seen. Is that all there is to Max? Is that all there is to the PA world? Methinks not. George could have still given us plenty of over the top vehicular mayhem, but could have given us a better look at the world around Max. And not shooting it Down Under was a pretty colossal mistake.

When I saw the original trailer, I felt the same way. Where is the plot?
Of course, all we have seen is the chase scenes, perhaps there is more, we shall wait and see

Mayhem sells...."a better look at the world around"doesn't. Simple as that.

@ Michael: Gee, really? Thanks for clearing that up for me. Apparently you missed the bit where I said "George could have still given us plenty of over the top vehicular mayhem..."

I think the sad part about this is most movies especially big budget blockbusters are going to be heavily marketed overseas. Non stop mayhap doesn't need a translator. While most of us would love a mixture and non stop madness a peek into the Max's world would add a little texture. Yes I will see this in the first couple of weeks.

Yeah, look how well it worked when the terminator films gave up on the intense chase thriller and explored the world around it.
