Christopher Webster [Celluloid 06.23.15] apocalyptic scifi horror action thriller adventure

Last night during a live stream from the set, 20th Century Fox announced the official title of Roland Emmerich's Independence Day sequel - Independence Day: Resurgence. Some images were also shared featuring Emmerich on the set and a practical "Moon Tug". We've also included a piece of concept art.

I'm always on board for a big, fun alien invasion movie and it's easy to forget just how big of a phenomenon the first Independence Day was when it was released back in 1996. The aliens that film depicted were dead seat on f*ucking out sh*t up.

Synopsis:
We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.

The sequel stars Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Vivica A. Fox, Brent Spiner, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jessie Usher, Maika Monroe and Sela Ward.

It hits theaters June 24, 2016

WTH that wasn't a first look just the title... why even release that video. Either way I loved the first movie at a kid so I hope this one brings back some nostalgia

I'm looking forward to it.
The title is crap. Though I don't care if the movie is good.

Independence Day was one of the best movie going memories I have from when I was a kid.
I even had the alien toy. Wish I still had it.

Please don't suck.

I'll withhold judgment until I see more. I'll echo @Winb "Please don't suck" What's all we ask.
