Justin Kurzel's Macbeth may not have succeeded in winning the grand prize at Cannes but the Australian director's adaptation of Shakespeare certainly wowed crowds and the first two clips we saw of the movie suggested how he did it: with great performances and a bold new look for Shakespeare.

The Weinstein Company will release the movie at some point this fall but in an appetite wetting turn, a full trailer has emerged which really puts on display Kurzel's adaptation in all its glory and from the looks of it, critic Jason Gorber nailed it when he called this "Shakespeare for the Game of Thrones crowd."

Not only does this look visually appealing, unsurprising considering Kurzel's knack for imagery, I expect the performances from Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Sean Harris and David Thewlis among others, will take this new adaptation to the next level.

There are big shoes to fill but it looks like this version of Macbeth will definitely deliver.
