Marina Antunes [Celluloid 08.12.15] scifi drama

I was going about my business reading EW (guilty pleasure) yesterday when I stumbled on One and Two, a sci-fi drama directed by You're Next cinematographer Andrew Droz Palermo and co-written by Palermo and Neima Shahdadi.

The movie stars Kiernan Shipka and Timothée Chalamet as siblings who discover they have special powers. It's all very Superman origin but much lower budget and with stakes that don't include fighting evil generals from another planet and the destruction of entire cities. Instead, One and Two seems to be a low-key family drama with the added struggle of dealing with the kid's powers.

It sounds and looks promising and thankfully, we don't have long to wait to see how it plays out. One and Two opens in New York and is available on VOD August 14.
