Earlier this week we shared a fantastic looking trailer for Charlotte's Song, a new re-imagining of Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Mermaid." Set during the great depression, the film centers on a family who survives by putting on song-and-dance numbers for the locals. When the matriarch of the family dies, the family business takes a downward spiral until a gangster arrives, offering to save the women – for a price.

I had a chance to speak with one of the movie's producers, Jessica Leigh Clark-Bojin, one half of Done Four Productions, and we talked about the genesis of Done Four, producing and co-directing the movie, the collaborative process and her company's methodology: Art Direction First.

The first two screenings of Charlotte's Song are sold out but tickets are still available for a late-addition third showing.

Recommended Release: Pan's Labyrinth
