Christopher Webster [Celluloid 10.16.15] thriller drama

Christopher Smith is responsible for some of my favorite films including Severance, Triangle (review) and most recently the awesome medieval thriller Black Death (review). His next film, Detour, stars rising star Tye Sheridan (Mud, Tree of Life) and is due in 2016.

In usual QE fashion, we've scooped the first poster and image from the film and thought we'd share it with you all. Sheridan looks decently moody I'd say.

Synopsis:
After a drunken night in a seedy bar drowning his sorrows over his mother’s ever worsening coma, Harper (Tye Sheridan), a 20 something Law student finds himself mixed up in a shady deal with roughneck Johnny Ray (Emory Cohen) to kill his stepdad Vince (Stephen Moyer).

Speeding down a Nevada highway in the back of a Blue Mustang, with Johnny and the beautiful Cherry (Bel Powley) Harper has taken on more than it seems. On this trip, there is no going back...

Smith directed Detour from his own screenplay. The film also stars Stephen Moyer, Bel Powley Emory Cohen among others.

Recommended Release: Triangle

Triangle is exceedingly brilliant and sadly not recognized. The posters and the way that it was marketed really belie the true nature of it..
