John Connor [Celluloid 10.08.15] scifi thriller

The official first season of Amazon's The Man in the High Castle, based on Philip K. Dick's alternate history novel of the same name, premieres next week and a new trailer has dropped titled "Defiance". It uses a lot of footage from the season premier which Amazon used to gauge interest in the series a year or so ago, which makes sense as when the whole thing premiers many people will still be unfamiliar with the show. However, there is some new explosive footage near the end of the 2.35 minute run time.

The Man in the High Castle is produced by Ridley Scott and stars Rufus Sewell (John Adams, Dark City), Luke Kleintank (Pretty Little Liars) and Alexa Davalos (Mob City).

Synopsis:
A glimpse into an alternate history of North America. What life after WWII may have been like if the Nazis had won the war.

The Man in the High Castle premieres on Amazon Prime next month on November 20.

Well I might as well add to the above madness. I've been reading about WWII since I was able to read. I'm no historian, but the idea of Japan or Germany winning WWII strikes me a simply silly. After Midway it was over for Japan. Japan didn't have the ability to replace the ships or the pilots they lost. One of the very few facts known about Japanese naval aviation is before Midway Japan had arguably the best carrier pilots in the world. After Midway and the Solomon battles Japan simply couldn't replace their losses, with the same quality.

I think Germany started the war four years to early, but I wont go into that. Germany fought a two front war between the UK and Russia they simply couldn't win. Add Hitler's interference in everything from weapons design, to tactics and Germany had no chance. Another factoid is SOE pondered killing Hitler, but didn't because he was more useful the Allies alive than dead. Stalingrad, Kursk, and North Africa gutted the German Military. It was obvious by 1943 to many in the German Army the war was lost. So I can't watch this show and take it seriously.

donc48, you actually planned to take the show seriously rather than just watching it for sheer entertainment?

I'm really not trying to be rude, but I don't find the Nazi's or the Imperial Japanese entertaining. It's simply just me.
