Christopher Webster [Celluloid 12.14.15] scifi thriller noir

[Editor's note: This new trailer for Jacob Gentry's Synchronicity contains massive spoilers for the film. Being as much of the joy of a film like this is discovery, I urge you to watch the original teaser instead.]

Jacob Gentry's new retro noir, Synchronicity is one of the best films I've seen this year so we're excited to see it's coming from Magnet Releasing on January 22, 2016. It's a mind-bending trip in the tradition of Blade Runner, Gattaca and Memento.

The second trailer for the film has dropped and while it's pretty great, it's also super spoilery so beware. If you prefer to let a film's secrets unfold in a way that will surprise you and keep you thinking, I urge you to avoid it.

Daring physicist Jim Beale has invented a machine that can fold space-time and ruthless corporate tycoon Klaus Meisner will stop at nothing to get it. When Jim uses the machine to tear open the fabric of the universe, a rare Dahlia appears from the future. But in order to keep the rights to his invention he must prove that it works by finding the flower's identical match in the present.

Jim soon discovers that the Dahlia lies in the hands of the mysterious Abby, who seduces him into revealing his secrets. Convinced that she is in league with Klaus to take ownership of his life's work, Jim travels back in time to stop the conspiracy before it can happen. But once in the past, Jim uncovers a surprising truth about Abby, the machine, and his own uncertain future.

Synchronicity stars Chad Mcknight, AJ Bowen, Brianne Davis, Scott Poythress, and Michael Ironside.

My review of Synchronicity.

Thanks for the spoiler warning. I'll just add it to my list of things to watch and not watch any trailers.

Second that. Just watched the teaser trailer and it looks fantastic. I'll definitely wait for the movie release.

As a huge fan of The Signal I'm on board without watching either trailer. The best part is Gentry directed the best part of The Signal, the middle segment. yay!
