The Girl With All the Gifts is a new British zombie film based on M.R. Carey's award winning novel of the same name. The book was published in June 2014 by Orbit Books and is based on his Edgar Award winning short story, "Iphigenia In Aulis."

The story deals with a dystopian future in which most of humanity is wiped out by a fungal infection that infects the brain.

The film adaption stars Gemma Arterton (Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters) along with Glenn Close and Paddy Considine. It is directed by Colm McCarthy (Peaky Blinders) and hits UK theaters on September 9, 2016.

Official Synopsis:
What’s left of the British population, now hunkered down in Birmingham, tries to find a cure from a single, intriguing anomaly: a group of children who have developed into a hybridised half-human, half-zombie state. The cold-eyed Dr. Caldwell experiments on them to find a cure for the pathogen.

One of the better zombie books. Should adapt pretty seamlessly into a movie. Glenn Close playing the doctor, gives me chills just thinking about it.
