Marina Antunes [Celluloid 03.22.16] Canada documentary

We've been excited about Jay Cheel's How to Build a Time Machine for years (we first posted about the documentary in 2012!) and now we have some excellent news: the doc is finished and ready for consumption!

The long awaited follow up to Beauty Day (review) may have started as an exploration of the John Titor myth but it has grown into something a bit different though just as fascinating. It now follows two men who have dedicated a better part of their lives to different aspects of H.G. Wells' 1895 novel: animator Rob Niosi who has spent nine years replicating the time machine as it appeared in the 1960 movie adaptation while theoretical physicist Ron Mallett has dedicated his life to researching and better understanding black holes and their potential for time travel.

How to Build a Time Machine will premiere to the world at HotDocs on May 2. Hopefully more screening information will be announced in the near future!
