A crowd-pleasing thriller in the tradition of classics buddy actioners like Lethal Weapon and The Hard Way, Allan Ungar's Gridlocked had audiences and critics praising its ability to juggle both brutal action and laughs when it ran the fest circuit last year.

We reviewed Gridlocked out of TAD last year and then had Ungar on a special episode of The Quietcast to discuss the film. At that time, there wasn't much to show except a clip.

Now the first trailer for the flick has dropped and I'm not surprised to see its a red band. While funny, the flick is still a bone cruncher.

Synopsis:
Former SWAT leader David Hendrix is down on his luck and has failed to receive medical clearance after taking a bullet on the job. Despite being highly trained and competent, his efforts have been reduced to routine tasks for the NYPD. As if things couldn't get any worse, he's been forced to babysit Brody Walker, a hard partying celebrity that's been sent on a mandatory ride along as part of his probation. Pampered and irritating, Walker is the last thing Hendrix needs. But all of that changes when a police training facility comes under attack by a team of ruthless mercenaries led by the mysterious Korver.

Now, Hendrix and Walker must band together with the remaining survivors to fight back and keep the mercenaries from overtaking the compound.... if they don't kill each other first.

Gridlocked's cast includes Lethal Weapon alum Danny Glover, former WWE star Trish Stratus, Cody Hackman, Richard Gunn, Vinnie Jones and Stephen Lang.

Magnet Releasing will distribute the film later this year.
