Christopher Webster [Celluloid 09.07.16] post apocalyptic scifi horror vampires

Remember When vampires were a big deal? The original Underworld was certainly a harbinger of the craze while also launching a little known British actress into international renown.

That newcomer was of course Kate Beckinsale who once again returns as Selene in this fifth(!) in the series, Underworld: Blood Wars. British actors Tobias Menzies (“Outlander”, “Rome”) and Lara Pulver (“Sherlock”) are her new Lycan foes while Charles Dance (“Game of Thrones”) reprises his role as the Vampire elder Thomas.

Rounding out cast is James Faulkner (“Game of Thrones”), Peter Andersson (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Daisy Head (the upcoming Fallen).

Synopsis:
Vampire death dealer, Selene (Kate Beckinsale) fights to end the eternal war between the Lycan clan and the Vampire faction that betrayed her.

Underworld: Blood Wars will be released on January 6th, 2017

Recommended Release: Underworld: Legacy Collection

No the move that launched Kate Beckinsale was "Haunted". An ok movie but not even remotely close to the books. This is what started her career.
Underworld has pretty large following. I like how it's shot the use of Blues and Grays. it's cool world. Also seeing quite lot of action sequences taken from the Matrix(wonder what movie the Matrix took that from)
hey if it works, it works!
