Marina Antunes [Celluloid 12.09.16] post apocalyptic action thriller

The new Plate of the Apes franchise has been improving with each installment. Rupert Wyatt's Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a good start which was greatly improved upon by Matt Reeves' Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (review), a movie that is darker and more nuanced than its predecessor and set up Reeves' next project as an even darker pursuit of survival.

And so the first trailer for War for the Planet of the Apes launches today and delivers exactly that: an all out battle between the apes, led by Caesar (Andy Serkis), and the humans, led by a menacing looking Woody Harrelson in the role of Colonel.

It appears Reeves is giving us what appears to be the final showdown between humanity and apes and with stakes this high and Reeves having a hand in the script, I can't help but be excited for what's to come, notably an emotionally battle complete with ridiculously amazing action sequences.

War for the Planet of the Apes opens July 14.

Even though it uses I see no evil and I hear no evil , I speak no evil incorrectly, it does do an amazing job of showing many themes still used today to control a culture.
It's a fantastic Film. Back then it seems scripts were smarter, the music more innovated(action cues)
stories more intelligent and films deeper.
now Heh crap. Shallow everything.
