John Connor [Celluloid 06.19.19] cyberpunk scifi horror action thriller crime adventure

[UPDATE: Variety has just reported that Dark/Web has gone to Amazon and will stream on Amazon Prime on July 19, 2019. So if you've been putting off that Prime trial now's the time to get on it!]

This year's San Diego Comic Con will host the world premiere of Dark/Web, a new sci-fi/horror anthology TV series from Felt Films. The screenings are scheduled for July 19th and 20th at the Hard Rock Hotel. You can also reserve your seat here.

Cast on hand from the series that explores the dangers of a totally connected world will include Sibongile Mlambo (Netflix’s Lost in Space), Nicholas Brendan (Coherence, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Clare Kramer (Buffy), Lana McKissack (Transformers), Michael Nardelli (Circle), Noemi Gonzalez (Paranormal Activity) along with filmmakers Tim Nardelli, Mario Miscione and Roxy Shih.

Gabriel Luna (Terminator: Dark Fate) and Cassi Thompson (The Alienist) also star.

Similar to Black Mirror or the Twilight Zone, each episode of Dark/Web explores themes related to the internet and the dangers present in the murky, unexplained layers of the web. Paranoia, isolation, vanity, loss of identity, the viral nature of ideas and social media pressures are just a few of the subjects the show tackles.

Socially, the Internet is as unifying and divisive as it’s ever been; only now, when the entire world is connected, it’s never been harder to unplug.

The eight episode series features six stand-alone anthology segments by various creators:

"EAT. PREY. LOVE" (Director/writer Roxy Shih (The Tribe)
"RIDESHARE" (Director/writer Boman Modine)
"HACKED" (Director Eric Salberg, writer Christopher Webster)
"ZERO" (Director/writer Zelda Williams (TV’s Dead of Summer)
"BLACKHEART" (director/writer Mario Miscione (Circle)
"VIRAL" (director/writer Michael Nardelli (Circle))
