The international version of the theatrical trailer for Takanori Tsujimoto's Monster Killer (Red tears - kôrui) - a.k.a. "Red Tears" and "Sword of Blood" - has been added to YouTube; it includes English subtitles. The movie had its world première at last year's Tokyo International Film Festival (Tôkyô Kokusai Eigasai) - "TIFF" for short - on October 24th, and was subsequently screened there on October 29th. Kurata Promotion Company (K.K. Kurata Puromôshon) is scheduled to release it at the Cinemart Shinjuku in Tokyo on April 7th, and at the Cinemart Shinsaibashi in Osaka on April 14th. Distribution rights for it are to be offered for sale by All Rights Entertainment Limited at this year's European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin, which runs from February 9th to February 17th.
According to the TIFF website, the screenplay for Monster Killer was written by Tsujimoto (who was also the movie's cinematographer) and Eiichi Yonekawa. The movie stars Natsuki Katô, Yûma Ishigaki, Yasuaki Kurata, Karin Yamaguchi, Ayaka Morita, Kôji Nakamura, Masahiro Nagai, and Yôju Takashima (4th row, 2nd from right). Kurata (of Kurata Promotion Company) and Masashi Horiuchi (of Sanada Fudosan Corporation / K.K. Sanada Fudôsan) were the planners and executive producers of it. Hiroki Asai was the action director for it. It was scored by Hikaru Yoshida. Yoshihiro Nishimura was responsible for its special make-up effects.
Here's a description of Monster Killer from All Rights Entertainment: "A serial killer leaves behind a trail of headless bodies. Hazuki appeals to detective Tetsuo that her missing boyfriend is involved in the case because of a lady who was with him when he disappeared. Hazuki shows him a picture of the lady, Sayoko, and he is attracted to her beauty. Tetsuo unexpectedly runs into Sayoko while investigating the location in the picture. He is fascinated by her, and she is also drawn to the righteous Tetsuo. International action star Yasuaki Kurata presents a real suspense action horror film. The end fight between Natsuki Kato and Yasuaki Kurata is a must see!"
