The Quiet Earth Reprinted

Postby zombieja » Thu Oct 10, 2013 10:16 am

Missed this until now, but back in July, The Quiet Earth by Craig Harrison was finally reprinted and is also available for Kindle. Anyone who didn't want to pony up the $150 or more that original paperbacks were going for, can now get it for under $12.

I like them both equally well. I think it's one of those movie vs book instances where they're different enough that I don't really think of them as competing. There was a lot about the book that I preferred, though, mainly concerning the secondary characters. Either way, it feels win/win.

Straight after Quiet Earth, I read Harry Harrisons' Make Rome, Make Room.. (the basis for Soylent Green)... from no one to massive overcrowding.. made for an interesting contrast.
