Live action Akira a go

Postby quietearth » Wed Feb 20, 2008 11:33 pm

So I initially ignored this, especially since Dicraprio is set to produce, but I just saw reports that Joseph Gordon Levitt (Brick) will play Tetsuo and Ruairi Robinson will direct, and if you don't know him he did the AWESOME PA short film Silent City. So now I'm officially stoked.

Silent City is an amazing short and the world needs a talent like Ruairí Robinson to enter the land of feature filmmaking. Plus, Cillian Murphy is in it.

For those of you who are interested you can download a beautiful and big HD Quicktime version of the film here:

I'm not sure what to make of this... The original is superb, is a remake really needed?

Interesting cast choice though, might be good.

Well I think I'm the minority here when I say, I'm not really a fan of the original, it was just allright, so I can't wait to see what they do with it.
