The Second season actually has a few dud episodes. Season one is pretty much flawless however, and like you, I've yet to watch season 3. My buddy's got it on DVD and we're supposed to get into it right away here.

there are some pretty weak episodes in season two, overall, though, i do like season three the best. i haven't bothered going through and seeing who did which episodes but i suspect some of the poorer ones were the responsibility of the same person.

in primary school (year 5 or 6) I read a serialised story in our states school magazine... Obviously it had a PA element...

It was based in England (as a lot of top shelf SF is) . the story was about a team of people that came into the country covertly to try and topple some strange force that had turned the people of England into Ludites... (IE they hated Technology) ... The team (Fairly young from memory ... this was 30 years ago) broke into an old auto museum and resurected a Rolls Royce Silver Ghost... (as it had been seven (?) years since the Luditeism had hit and it was felt that the Rolls obviously indoors and prepared for long term storage would be a good choice)... they had to battle some wierd evil presence to get things back to normal.... I never read the whole series.. But there was an English television adaptation of the book that ran a few years later.... I never saw all of that either....
Any body know what this poorly described book and tv series is called..?

Hi All,

What a great site. Started an interest in the PA genre back in the Mission Impossible TV days. Here in the Great White North there were actually 3 channels on the tube...CBC, Local CTV out of Ottawa and once in a while Northern New York station.
While not a big fan of Science Fiction, I did enjoy Ray Bradbury, The Triffids and a good Hammer Film if I snuck downstairs . I also am new to the PC world as a form of socializing and especially for happened upon sites like this...well, there are not really any like This one.
I found my way here while looking for a film that all I can really recall is it might have been Australian and the main character sets up a lawn full of mannequins for a garden party of sorts...maybe one of the members knows it.
I'm enjoying the reviews and esp. the TIFF stuff, not into the red carpet Zombies but really appreciate anything to do with intelligent film making, or something I like. Keep up the great work .
There is a PA novel set in Canada called...wait for it....The Last Canadian by William C. Heine. Now some fellow Canucks might think it's about the last Pint in the 24. Definitly a mini-apocalypse in itself, but it's a great read. I was about 12 yrs old and thought it was great. Still do. I'll probably drop by often and hope to see it busy.

Just puttin' in time waitin' for The Walking Dead...could they shamble any slower, really.

Yep, the film you seek is indeed The Quiet Earth. One of the finest examples of smart PA films there is and the reason many readers find us.

Welcome. :D
